- Have an appropriate level of technical expertise that helps my students master and advance in a particular subject or skill area.

- Active listener when a student voices their concerns or has a question that helps me to determine the best way to help them.

- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills that help my students understand complex ideas.

- Problem solver that can identify what is holding students back from fully understanding a subject and help my students problem-solve and reach new skill levels in a subject.

- Being able to manage the time productively so the tutoring sessions don't go overtime and cover everything the student wanted to accomplish during the session.
